hi
thought i'd share a few thoughts on my new orange c600.
first of all the screen is a major step forward from my c500 - great to look
at in all conditions. lots of great small features - i particularly like the
fact that you can see when an alarm is set - so crucial and so missing from
smartphones up until now!
however... i'm having a few niggles with it too. it seems generally slower
than the c500 - i guess the new os has a higher overhead. i've also had
issues with icons changing randomly, the friendly "text messages" on the
home screen changes to the less friendly sms once you get a message. also
tom tom is far less reliable - many crashes - phone not car :-) (i have done
the latest update to 5.2).
they have also changed the way gprs works - the timeout switch off doesn't
seem to work any more which always worries me that data might be trickling
down to my phone without my knowing it. you have to manually stop the
connection each time. the email app has had some great updates too, but i
used to like the fact that when you chose to download a full message, the
c500 would just connect up and get the thing for you, now yuo have to go to
the menu and do a manual send/receive. bit of a backwards step i think.
anyway, don't get me wrong - i love this phone and i wouldn't go back to the
c500 now. just wondering what other people think and whether they've seen
any of these things happening - perhaps i have a defective phone.....
cheers
