Sounds like he already has a few dead pixels and wants the manufacturer
to take the machine back as defective...only needs a couple more dead
pixels to trigger the recall...AKA: fraud.

Undoubtedly, he has a panel with a small number of bad pixels, and the
mfgr won't replace it under warranty, but if it had "more" bad pixels,
then it would be "defective" and would be replaced under warranty.

[Although there is no guarantee that the replacement would not also have
bad pixels, perhaps even more than his current screen.]
