Hello all,

I've got a very clean Armada 7380dmt laptop that works perfectly with an
external monitor, but the lcd screen is black. When I first got it, the lcd
was purplish and very dim and worked intermittently. Then it went all black
so I got another lcd from ebay that was claimed to be tested and has no bad
pixels. This lcd is from a 7370 but is the same part number and is an xga
display. What else could be wrong to cause this problem? The machine works
great and I'll love to get this working. I've use FN-F4 to switch between
external and internal displays and set the brightness to as high as possible
with no luck. Thanks a lot.

What parts of the display system were replaced - LCD panel, lamp,
inverter?

The whole lcd panel. It has a big connector in the center with a double row
of metal pins and a little plastic connector and the hinges were on it. If
you take the machine apart, you remove the screws for the hinges, unplug the
2 connectors and lift the panel out. That's the piece that I replaced. The
panel wasn't dissasembled. Thanks for the reply.

With the lights out, can you see any light leakage at the margins -
indicating that the lamp is on? If not, the lamp or the inverter has
failed.
