Posted by joe on February 12, 2009, 2:12 pm Please log in for more thread options hello I did a backup of my sql database located in /var/lib/mysql/ database with tar -cvf database.tar database First I did /etc/init.d/mysql stop then I did the tar command. I am trying to restore while the server is stopped but the old data comes back up. Is there a way to prevent this from happening. Thanks.
