"or any such easy-to-download antivirus software"

Good Grief!  Could the article be anymore vague?  How difficult would it
have been to list ALL the brands they tested that have this vulnerability.
And even better, list the brands they tested that did not.

Whilst I am no expert, having read the article I think its a sales ploy.
Quote:

“An attacker first crafts an email with malicious payload and sends it to
the target user. When the email is scanned by the vulnerable antivirus
software it can either crash the antivirus software or execute arbitrary
code resulting in complete security bypass and remote system compromise.”

Sorry, just don't believe it.

The fact that it then goes on to recommend (for impact analysis and remedial
action) a company that I've never heard of makes me think its an alarmist
sales ploy.

This is just my opinion of course.
