Why is Bear here?

I want to share what I know and techniques I use.

What do I get out of such? Comments from the experience and knowledge of
others that may help me improve my approach and ideas.

What do others get from my opinions and comments? The same as I get from
theirs maybe.

I do not want to bicker and prove I'm smarter than anyone. Such is
childish.

A: To fuck this group up.

This guy is a serious troll. Given time he ceases to be funny, and you realise
that he's
dragged everything down to his level, and wasted your life reading, replying,
and reading
others replies to his inanities.

Resistance is futile.

This time he didn't even try for funny.

He waltzed in and just started telling experts the "BEST SECURITY
PRACTICE IN THE WORLD" (paraphrasing of course).  Was to simply
restore images.

All I can tell you is Bottoms was the catalyst that tore ACF apart. He's already
got a few
here contesting his ridiculous provocational statements. If I told them not to,
they
wouldn't listen.

Sept 2006  http://groups.google.com/group/alt.comp.freeware/msg/a46d34973796b1f6

There is no defence. He's a VERY prolific poster. Think VERY stubborn needy
child.

Sooner or later you will tire of one sided intelligent debate, and descend into
mocking
him. I suggest you take that path sooner rather than later. It saves a lot of
work.

Oh, I have a strategy to deal with those types.  He just hasn't
become important enough to stay on my radar.

Hello G. Morgan.  What  you describe is Bottoms's MO.  He makes a
provocative statement but a way which others take seriously.
People then try to rationally correct his misunderstanding but
quickly find they are making no progress because Bottoms doesn't
want to hear their views.

By way of sustaining such troll debates, Bottoms will often make
yet more technically ludicrous remarks and correspondingly, others
(such as Dustin) respond in outrage to his apparent stupidity.  He
often replies with non sequiturs which predictably enough generate
even more replies to ask why he's evading the issue.

To make sure everyone doesn't just ignore him, every now and then
Bottoms will make some quasi-intelligent remark.  He probably had
to pick the brains of either his wife (an IT administrator) or of
his co-workers at Dow Chemical.

His strategy works well.  Just look at his recent success in
stirring up alt.comp.anti-virus.  I have to say that he's done a
brilliant job in eliciting replies in that group.

BTW he's ably assisted in his disruptive endeavors by participation
of wife Jaqueline.  You can see the entries for her ("JBottoms") in
a post made a few months ago....

Hello again G. Morgan.  From what I've read of your posts, you write
too much sense to plonk.  Maybe you're mixing me up with someone else.

I must have been thinking of someone else, sorry 'bout that!

I don't see many posts from you, are you a light user?

Nope, I'm here to offer my opinions. Simple as that. The noise is simply
from those that fell threatened by fresh ideas that they haven't been
promoting.
