what to do when system will not load

I have a Win2k Server (Dell PowerEdge 1500) that constantly reboots.  It
loads almost to the desktop, then reboots.  I have changed hardware and run
diagnostics.  I'm suspecting a virus or damaged Windows installation.

Is there a virus scan I can run from floppy or cd, since I cannot get into
Windows?

thank you,

jm

Hit F8 when Windows starts loading to get to the menu and select to
boot from the last known good configuration.

Thank you but I tried that.  Nothing gets me all the way in.  That's why I
think there is a virus in play.  But the server has a level 5 RAID array, so
it's not easy running a virus scan on it, such as I could with an IDE drive
connected to a USB adapter, etc.

I really need an antivirus program that can be run from a CD or floppies.

2 years old but still relevant:

Pretty straightforward if you're formatted FAT.   NTFS will require
captive NTFS for read/write access to your drive so it can clean it.
I've yet to have occasion to play with that though.   Last I tried
captive was sorta not entirely ready for primetime, but I'd have to
think it's better now.

Best Regards,
