trying to run Win 7 unsuccessfully as a virtual machine inside Sandboxie

I have been able to install Win 7 as guest virtual machine with XP host
using Virtualbox.  My hard drive is large enough that I just allocated some
space for the virtual Win 7 system.  Now I'll be able to try out all the
programs I want to retain from XP.  I have some issues running 7 this way
though, with the main issue being that both of my OS's are on the DSL
simultaneously while I'm online and I'm not sure how to block my host while
the guest is online.  Another issue is that I had hoped to place Virtualbox
(and therefore Win 7) inside of Sandboxie to better isolate the two OS's
from one another, but when I try to start the Win 7, Sandboxie reports there
isn't enough disc space.  I've tried changing the size up to 100 GB, but Win
7 still stalls inside the sandbox.  It would be great if I could run 7
inside of Sandboxie though, but if not it still won't prevent me from trying
out 7 for the next 3-4 months.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill.

Do you have sandboxie v3.74?

AFAIK, You won't actually be able to run an OS inside of a sandboxie
sandbox. I've *never* actually tried this. :)

Please post back your results...

clarification...:

"doesn't run in a VM." sandboxie isn't virtualmachine software. It's a
close proximity, but.. not vbox, vpc, etc. It doesn't mimic another system
at the hardware level as those apps do.

Well you just proved my point.  Sandboxie is not VM VirtualBox.  So the question
and assertion remains:  i know of no instance where a malware on a VM escaped
the guest to infect the host.  And neither do you.

Nice try though.  Kind of like your programming--nice try.

You didn't have any points to prove or disprove. Except that once again,
you had no idea what sandboxie is/does. Did you google to learn or visit
the webpage? :)

I know of several instances where a malware sample has escaped it's
confines, sandboxie, vbox, vpc (you pick), patches issued for it etc.

I'm really surprised this is all news to you. Well, on second thought,
I'm not.

Irok was a nice programming example wasn't it? Have you figured out how
it works yet? The source samples I was kind enough to provide you laid
it out. If you could code, halfway decent! even, you'd know how it works
and be able to write one yourself.

I wrote my first one in 1996. How are you coming along with your first
one? [g]

"Nice try" indeed.
