I had posted this in Win Xp Help group without any replies so Perhaps ?
Running Windows XP Professional 256 megs Ram-- Machine running slow and
hanging at times.
Ad-Aware found several critical objects and cookies which were deleted
but Task manager showed a strange process called "doodunoosuh.exe"
Google shows no reference to this exe file.
Anyone kow what this is---and can it be deleted ?
Re: Task Manager process
Not too surprising. Depending on how you use the computer, I'd recommend
upgrading it to at least 512MB of RAM. You should see an appreciable
improvement in speed.
You might try going to VirusTotal (http://www.virustotal.com /) and
submit a copy of the file for scanning by multiple malware scanners. That
should give you a better idea of whether it is malicious or not.
As far as deleting it, I'd recommend renaming it instead. Change the
file name to something like "ro-doodunoosuh-exe.ro" and run your system
for a while to see if anything suddenly "breaks". If you find a program
that you use suddenly doesn't work properly, it is then easy to go back
in and rename the file back to its original name.
Of course, if the file is malicious, that may be moot as you may not be
able to simply delete or rename it. As I said above, best to have it
scanned at Virustotal first.
