Stop Webroot from starting with windows

I just installed Webroot Secure Anywhere 8.0.4.42 (free for 6 months)
on my Windows 7 Home. It works quite well but I don't want it to start
up together with my Windows 7 because it slows down the whole startup
process. My Windows is already slow in starting up without it.

I'd rather fire up Webroot on demand. I tried disabling Webroot in the
msconfig startup but it seems to ignore the setting and still starts
up with Windows. Furthermore, it  automatically reinstates itself in
msconfig.

Has anyone faced the same problem? If yes, how did you prevent it from
starting with Windows? I guess it could be done by means of fiddling
with the registry. However, I dare not try this method without
guidance as I don't know enough about the registry. Any help would be
appreciated.

Depending upon your version of Windows you may be able to control the
starting process from the Services window.  From the Run dialog type
services.msc and if a window pops up you can change the desired
program's startup properties to Automatic/Manual/Disabled.  I believe
this will overwrite anything in the MSCONFIG utility.

You're absolutely right! I opened up the Services window in my Windows
7 and there it was under the service name of WRSVC which was by
default set as "automatic". I have now set it as "manual" and it no
longer starts automatically with windows.

Thank you for the heads-up. If I had posted here earlier I'd have
saved myself from hours of googling for a solution to this webroot
problem. :-(

I recommend CCleaner, which includes a Start Up tool with which you can
do all that and more.
