They now want you to install an Avira toolbar????  If you don't your
umbrella isn't open so it makes you think that AntiVir Guard might not
be active. Can't believe that they screwed up such a great product.
Guess I'll switch over to Avast!.

That happened to me on someone else's computer. But after a reboot the
umbrella opened up again. However, it did bug me a second time to install
it.
On my own computer, I went to add/remove programs and picked "change". It
had the toolbar option there again. I declined it and it hasn't bugged me
since,
If you opt it in, you get "WebGuard" which is a feature of the paid
version. Then ask.com pays them a little bit for hits they get from the
toolbar if I read it correctly.

I went ahead and hit OK to install the toolbar on the popup. Which
prompted Avira to give me a repair or remove option. So I hit repair and
there was an option on whether or not to install the toolbar. Elected
not to and now Avira is fine. Weird.
