Re: update problems

wow so on the desktop the links gave a page load error so i had to put
the
files on a thumbstick and run them from there i haven't run malware
bites yet
but it still had the updating problem

then i tried superantispyware and it is still running its scan but it
has
already found 217 threats  ranging from adware to a rootkit, to a
trojan so this
looks quite promissing ill let you all know whether stuff
updates after its done

SAS (SuperAntiSpyware) is a great program.
Make sure the MBAM (Malwarbytes Anti-Malware) program you downloaded came
from the MalwareBytes.org.
There are several bogus sites that sound the same, but will download a
malware program which will infect your computer.

This is the real one:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php click on the Blue  'free trial
version' button on the left side of the page.

Since you spelled malwarebytes as   "malware bites" you probably have
downloaded a bogus program.
Not only is 'bytes' spelled wrong, you spelled it as two words. Beware of a
bogus program that WILL install more spyware and other malware on your
computer.
