may not be a virus on the date issue. this could be cause by a defective
bios battery. If it's not holding a charge system will load defaults when
you reboot . to test this try to alter something in bios and then shutdown
for a few hours then see if you alteration is still there. If the item you
alter has been restore back replace the bios battery. If not then I was
wrong  ( I was wrong once  )

Re: help! date auto changed

Thanks so much for your idea.
But this problem happening in 3 PC (2 at same place, 1 at other place).
I think they are infected through my usb sticker.
I also tried Spybot, didn't help.
...
More info.
after reboot, the year change to 2005. I changed it back to 2007 manually.
It will keep it until I tried to open C, D... drive as usual (by double
click).
Some error message come up, and Year change to 2005 again.
If I open C, D drive by right click & select open, it's fine, year keep at
2007.

In my case, it is virus. Reported by Kaspersky Anti-virus it named as
Backdoor.Win32.Agent.ahj.

It would create autorun.inf  and rising.exe files in all partitions'
root directory.
Disable explorer's viewing of hidden files. Because it could auto
change
system time to year 2005, this would deactive some anti-virus
software,
like Kaspersky Anti-virus.

In order to delete this virus, stop all services that contain numbers
and characters,
delete all autorun.inf and rising.exe in root directory, delete the
virus's source file
840E4FA0.DLL which resided in windows\system32.

I think it's a virus. This kind of thing happened to my friend's laptop also.
I'm still looking into it.

After every reboot or new boot, the system's clock changed to 2005, just the
year changed, nothing happened to month, date and time, they are ok just the
year changed to 2005.

I'm still looking for some manual method could handle this kind of virus, but
no any suggestion from Google, any idea?
