i would definitely agree with you that the time to detection is
still lacking.  i was only posting what they claimed on their
website.  

unfortunately, the current state of anti-malware is no match for the
malware that exists today.  maybe in years to come, cloud scanning
can become very effective.

Have a look a PrevX 3.0, which I think is an effective implementation of
anti-malware in the "cloud".  It also does not replace local antivirus, so
you can test drive it without altering your existing setup.

Prevx itself does not seem to enjoy very good rankings with the more
reputable organizations that do antimalware testing.

A short time ago, Prevx thought the classic "EICAR" test file was a low
level threat.  Now, they don't even classify it, as 39 out of 41 others do.

However, their claims about Panda seem to hold at least some truth.
