I'm speaking of the freebie download from this page.

Will it conflict with any AV program running on my machine?

Does it load any unwanted toolbars or any other stuff?

How often is it updated?

Is it really worth installing?

If your AV has a web shield or equivalent, it might be redundant.
However, one person's redundancy is another's 'belt and suspenders'
layered security approach.

Oh, I just hate it when security apps do that crap, it's bad enough
when Adobe inflicts users with them under the guise of an "update" for
reader or flash.

I don't know about this specifically, I can't use such an app.

I don't know about that either, but I suspect the database is
constantly being updated.

Well, that's really up to the user and the kind of use the machine
gets.

Hi

You can contact customer services and ask them directly:

FWIW

I've been using SiteAdvisor for years without any trouble at all.

It is very unobtrusive but its warnings cannot be missed! :-)

Good luck. Give it a try and come back and tell folk what you think!

Agree with BD - have used it for years (along with WOT - web of trust)

Doesn't get updated on your computer because, if I understand
correctly, it reads data from it's own database whilst you're online.
Doesn't conflict with my AV (NOD32) or with MWBAM.

Had it for too long to know if it downloads toolbars - but just watch
out for options as you install it.

No.
Nor the Cafe 'Advisor' nor WOT is worth installing.
Who does the rating of sites?
How many sites are rated?
A lot of the ratings are based on hear-say from users.
And user are frequently biased.

It is (much) more effective to use Firefox (or Palemoon) with No Script.
