Ping Ray again!

Hi Ray...

How many days do you need to study that damn program? I've commented every
line now for you.

I want to know if you're finished talking down to me and being a generally
insulting punkass? We can start over fresh if you are. I can be a useful
individual, Ray. :) Do keep that in mind.

I studied it for five minutes and I made my comment in the other thread, go=
there.  I concluded you don't know what you are talking about.

Sorry Dustin but I don't have time for your childish games.  You really nee=
d to grow up and learn how to program in assembly instead of cutting and pa=
sting stuff you find on the net.  Further, you need to learn the rudiments =
of commenting a program line by line, but I doubt you understand what you c=
opy and paste.

Happy Kiddie Scripting,

RL

Btw, I was wrong concerning variable contents vs pointers. You can
specify contents directly, by placing the variable in brackets... ;p

In the hello world program, it was pointers only. this program is a
combination of the two.

segment code

start:
mov ax,data
mov ds,ax
mov ax,stack
mov ss,ax
mov sp,stacktop

mov dx,hello
mov ah,9
int 0x21

mov ah,0x3c
mov cx,0
mov dx,files
int 0x21

mov [filehnd],ax

mov ah,0x40
mov bx, [filehnd]
mov cx,[msglength]
mov dx,hello
int 0x21

mov ah,0x3e
mov bx,filehnd
int 0x21

mov ax,0x4c00
int 0x21

segment data

hello: db 'Hi! Ray How did I get created Today?',13,10,'$'
files db 'ray.txt', 0
filehnd dw 1
msglength dw 38

segment stack stack
resb 64
stacktop:

The other thread is too crowded for further comment.  As I indicated in tha=
t thread you have not demonstrated you know how to code in assembly languag=
e.  You can redeem yourself--and I will admit defeat and that I was wrong--=
if you go through this code and comment each and every line, and tell me wh=
at they are doing.  Not cut and paste commentary either, but your own words=
, showing us that you know what you are talking about.

Ball in your court now Dustin.

I have already done that. I went a step further and wrote you a custom
little program from scratch that uses a mixture of pointers and direct
data as well as several different functions available via int21.

I didn't cut and paste any commentary or source code. Ant has double
checked my work.

This is the last time I'll be of any assistance intentionally, until you
demonstrate (a) some respect and (b) an ability to understand this
material.
