I don't know how long it has been there, or where it came
from. Earlier, I tried (with no sucess) to purchase a MP3
from Amazon and it might have come down from there.
I opened it to look at it and it automatically ran a scan
that reports a multitudes of things that need to be
corrected. I haven't pushed the go button.
Is this a legit program?

Sounds like a typical rogue system/AV Trojan. In most cases, running
'rkill' or one of its variants followed up by a scrubbing with
Malwarebytes will do the trick.
