I don't use the paid version. Dustin can answer your question better
than I can.

Arguing with other people, but not able to answer questions about the
subject.
That does not help very much, does it?

You mean like you being clueless about Norton?

I'd suggest you goto the updater settings and uncheck "check for program
updates, notify you when a program update is available." Or, you might find
yourself running v2.0.x... they've begun pushing the updates.

You should turn on resident file monitoring, but keep in mind it can
conflict with your resident AV program in some cases. The web site blocking
module is upto you. It may block sites that aren't malicious though, in
some cases.

Just be careful. Don't let it auto quarantine anything. Malwarebytes has
released bad updates before that resulted in systems getting killed. So,
the software shouldn't be told to make any decisions for you. All it takes
is another bad definitions update and your box can get hosed. It's happened
several times before.

I had it already unchecked.

Ok, I turned off web site blocking.  Do you have it unchecked in yours?

The auto quarantine was already unchecked.

I don't run it resident. :) It's not even installed on this PC.

I use it as ondemand only for clients... I don't recommend any of them
actually purchase the product. I'm a little biased though, I worked for
them... :)

Why are you asking Ron?  He doesn't seem to know anything about the pd
version (or any version) of MBAM.
I use the pd version of MBAM and have everything checked under the
Protection tab. I run it in real time with Avast.

And I'm sure you know more about MBAM than Dustin and David Cook, right?

I use Win7HP64SP1 and MBAM Pro (ver. 1.75.0.1300) real-time.
mbamgui.exe *32 = 3.572 K
mbamscheduelr.exe *32 = 4.020 K
mbamservice.exe *32 = 63.840 K

when I start the scanner and do nothing:
mbam.exe *32 = 130.844 K

Maybe the memory usage increases over time?

Started a full scan,
mbam.exe *32 = 137.xxx - 162.xxx (peak) K

Later on ...
Scheduled full scan is running.

mbam.exe *32 = 209.576 K +/-  (211.412 K when scan is completed.)
mbamgui.exe *32 = 3.712 K
mbamscheduler.exe *32 = 4.060 K
mbamservice.exe *32 = 67.096 K

mbam.exe *32 is gone when scanner is closed after full scan.

My mbam.exe *32 is also gone unless the scanner is actually running.
Amazed at the difference in memory usage between your computor and mine,
unless your numbers are those when MBAM is not being used for real time
protection.
Still, a tremendous difference.
My mbamscheduler.exe *32   107MB  compared to your reading of 4KB
mbamservice.exe *32  254MB  compared to your reading of 67KB

I don't understand why!!  :(

I use Mbam Pro real-time, starting up with Windows.
As Dustin suggested memory usage increases over time.
I switch off my computer at night (and on in the morning).

Now, later in the evening (my time):

mbamgui.exe *32 = 3.764 K
mbamscheduler.exe *32 = 4.084 K
mbamservice.exe *32 = 69.252 K

small increases, notably mbamservice.exe.

Do you use an AV with Mbam Pro?  If so, which one?

I also shut my computer down every night.
Why the tremendous memory usage difference?
I run the free Avast in real time.
I don't run Windows Defender.
Why my high memory usage?

Hmm.. What are your settings for it?

Have you done a clean reinstall of the program? I don't think it would
change anything, but I'm curious..
