I tried the Knowledge base on the Symantec web page but found no help. What
keeps happening is Liveupdate has installed the same Internet security URL
updates like 6 times. It says that it was a good install and that it has
downloaded and installed the update yet tomorrow it will download the same
update (same exact size file). I use to be able to go do a manual update and
if everything is up to date no update. Could I have a corrupt registry and
if so how can I begin to correct. I have scanned this machine with 2 online
scanners and Safe mode and found no virus, spyware. any info thanks

It may be worth finding the Symantec article regarding wiping the
LiveUpdate settings/downloads and regenerating them all, or possibly
uninstalling/reinstalling LiveUpdate.

I had a problem similar to this with a NAV virus definition file and the
above fixed it.

Can't got the article to hand I'm afraid.

Thanks Adam I had read that article on the Symantic site prior to posting
but I thought that only applied to the AV portion of Norton. Maybe it's
worth a try.

Re: Norton Internet Security 2004 same update!

Take a look at the symantec.customerservice.general newsgroup.

There's some discussion about this one there. Looks like it's a problem with
the update for 2003 & 2004 users, they seem to have now removed the update
and no doubt will release a 'fixed' one in due course.
