New, rather confusing and grotty interface called a
"dashboard".
Trust it if you can .....
It connects out a lot, even during scans and when it does not
need to update.

In Settings - Advanced settings, there is no way I can unmark
"Start Malwarebytes Antimalware with Windows".
But I can't find the "startup" entry anywhere. Am I missing a
service ? If so, they did a neat job, I can't find it anywhere, and
usually I'm pretty good at that.

I haven't tried v2.0 as a Beta or as a formal release and I am reading much
discontent in the forums.

Right click it (Mbam icon) in the tray and untick what you don't
particularly want (or need)

The only options I have are open main window, exit  or update
database. Maybe the "start with windows" is a "feature" of the
non-free version ?

I have the options:

Enable filesystem protection.
Enable malicious website blocking.
Start protection module with Windows.

Under the protection tab on paid version 1.75.

Apologies,  I have the paid version - I think I donated and received a
licence,
not sure if I actually bought it or not - I often make donations to software
writers, hells bells, I use enough freeware so its only fair ehh :-)

PS It was mentioned (maybe in their forum) that version 1.75 is more
_appealing_ than the newer version/

I always and ever wait for a while to see if anything in a "new version" has
fecked up :-)

Cheers

Perhaps that's because it doesn't start up with Windows. I can't find it
with System Explorer, so...

So, since I have the Pro (LIFETIME) version 1.75 do you recommend for me NOT
to update to ver 2.0? (Win7 HP 64 bit)
Their advertising suggests that the new version finds more, faster.
Shouldn't this topic also be in the alt.privacy.spyware ng since it seems to
be more of an anti-spyware program?
Just curious, that's all.  :)
Thanks,

I'd advise waiting until v2.1.  There are new heusristics on Chrome and
Firefox plug-in based malware but I have yet to ascertain (beside the
inclusion of MBAR) what else is really "new" to the actual malware detection
and removal capabilities.

Sure.  It, this thread, could have been x-posted to  a.p.s  as well.  It
just wasn't started that way.

Thanks for that. I imagine that the few folks that still go to a.p.s. most
likely visit this site also.
I will wait for the next release.

I'm waiting for the next version so :)

Now "Charityware" is an idea I can go along with Dave, fair play to you

Facebookers are doing 'selfies' without makeup - our cancer society has
gotten a half a million euro -
you dial a 5xxxx number from your mobile and you're deducted  a set sum (4
euro is the agreed amount)

PS men can do it too - but they must put on makeup and post the pic :-)

Cheers

It happens that Shadow formulated :

Requires a clean install, they have not yet configured an install over
feature.  The end of the lifetime licenses, will be a 12 month license
period for now on; they will continue to honor lifetime ones if you
currently have one (nice to know).  Now if they will only fix the way
the database stores info to reduce the rather large memory usage for
the pro version.

It is the end of "new" lifetime licenses.  Previous purchaseers are
grandfathered-in.

Malwarebytes f**ked up with this release....
