Re: malwarebytes malicious website blocking
MalwareBytes is the name of the company, not of a product. Are you
asking their AntiMalware product?
MalewareBytes does not publish information on their web site about how a
site gets nominated or added to their blocklist, why the site was added,
how long a site is listed, how often they review their list of blocked
sites, how long before a site's "bad" status expires from their list, or
how a site can request re-review to get off the bad sites list. They
say the site is bad (well, more accurately, they claim the site used to
be bad). If you don't agree, you can ignore the warning and visit the
suspicious site. You can even add a web exclusion to eliminate the
alert prompt on your next visit.
If you have no intention of paying for the Pro edition of AntiMalware
then don't work about it. In 15 days the trial expires and the product
cripples to the free version which has no web traffic monitor (the free
version has no monitoring and becomes a 2nd opinion manual scanner).
You can read their forums to get more information. After all, you
installed a trial version so now is the time to learn about the product
(versus install and forget). Seems some users are having problems with
the malicious website filter, like:
There may be workarounds but the bugs still exist. Version 2 has had
many bug reports. Some users reverted to version 1 or don't use the Pro
real-time features (i.e., they degrade to the free version).
