Malware Screws Up YouTube???

I downloaded some freebie files to fool around with yesterday. Today
I found that YouTube would not work. It would let me select a video,
but the Play feature would not work. I figured something went wrong
with FireFox. FF needed updating anyway, so I downloaded the update.
The update would not load.

I then went in and tried to use ADD/REMOVE to get rid of FF. No
good. Wouldn't do it, so I erased it. I then went into the registry
and took out every mention of FireFox. The update still would not
load. Searching around, I found that some font program nonsense had
been loaded on my machine. The name of the program had some strange
figures attached to it. Kaspersky tagged it as not a virus or trojan
but as an Unwanted program. Kaspersky eliminated it. Still I
couldn't load the new version of FF. I then said to hell with
fooling around with this nonsense. I went and used Acronis True
Image in the Explore mode to get ahold of a good backup of FF. That
worked.

I wonder if anyone else ever experienced this kind of nonsense
locking up YouTube's play feature?

There is no doubt in my mind that one of the downloads and installs
of one of the freebies caused this. YouTube was running fine just
hours before using those proggies.

I had the same problem.  Buffalo  solved it for me.  Maybe the same
will work for you.

If you have TrackMeNot in your Mozilla add on menu, disable it.  That
did it for me.

Hope this helps.
