The AV-Comparatives Malware Removal Test uncovered some surprising
results regarding popular anti-virus products' abilities to clean
systems once infected.

As far as free products go, the Microsoft offering is looking better
every day!

I read the test already, but IMHO it=C2=B4s wrongly weighted, because for=
=20
example eScan doesn=C2=B4t remove 2 things completely, but others did.
What=C2=B4s the higher risk? To be infected and know that your pc is infe=
cted=20
and the infections is partially removed OR to be infected and you=20
don=C2=B4t know it and won=C2=B4t become aware of?

Staying at AVAST in spite of this test.

You have a point regarding eScan but it did do well in completely
cleaning several nasties whereas AVAST! left many residuals.  Also
consider the test was about cleaning abilities only, not detection.
Chances are you would use an online scanner once eScan told you it
can't handle the other ones.  Personally I use AntiVir but am warming
up to the Microsoft offering lately.

That's logic that should not (but does) need to be stated. About all the
test did for me was reinforce the need for supplementary scanners.
