I always do the full scan.

I'm just wondering if that's overkill.

Assuming I clean the cache, run my Avira A-V and all looks good, should I
just do a quick scan (or maybe a full scan every so often and a quick scan
other times?)

Hello Mel:

Although I'm pulling numbers from nowhere, maybe MBAM quick scans
everyday & MBAM full scans once per week.  On a system with OK hardware
and partitions with more than an average amount of applications, the
MBAM full scan time duration will still likely be less than 30 minutes.

I combine the full paid versions of both MBAM with SAS and scan with
both.  I too combine these with a free Avira AntiVir Personal on one of
my systems.  I combine all the above with GMER and a few other utilities
and I feel at least OK about that system.

How long does a full scan take?

I never bother to do a "quick" scan,
because the "full" scan is fast enough for me.
I scan twice per week (and also with SAS)

(quick and dirty?)
