Received this in an email and need to know if real or hoax

"Red Alert Snopes verified do not open under any circumstances. Very Very
urgent. There is an e-mail with subject line Obama acceptance speech
floating around with a trojan horse attachment. Do not open for any reason.
Delete immediately. The trojan steals all passwords and user ids.

Thanks
Michelle

Could be a real trojan.

Many trojans use such topics in Social Engineering to get you infected.

What you need to know is:
1. Don't open spam emails.
2. Configure your email client so it can't auto-execute embedded,
 attached or linked content.

These stupid alarmist emails do the rounds all the time. They stink of
hoax and most often are. However, I have seen some spam with Obama
mentioned in the subject line. Tbere's nothing a spammer won't put
there to try and get some fools attention. It really doesn't matter
because if you're security aware these things are not an issue.

The biggest problem is that most folks use Internet Explorer to view their

In which case, if they do accidently open a spam, they'd better be
sure the browser and all its plugins are kept up to date with the
latest patches. It should also be configured so as to not run active
content automatically, e.g. put the site in the restricted zone if
using IE and/or customise the security settings.
