With Norton 2001 I could set it so that it would only look for updates
once a week. That way, the computer would not try to connect to the
internet (and trigger a dialout) every time I booted the PC.
Norton 2001 is now obsolete, and I installed NAV 2005. I've turned off
the auto-update (I'll invoke it manually myself), but on boot, the
ccapp process is part of startup and appears to try to access the
internet. I know disabling ccapp via msconfig/uncheck-in-Startup
Is there some way to configure NAV so that it can startup yet not try
and access the internet? I don't see much in the Options.
Re: how turn off Norton 2005 ccapp internet connect?
Uninstalling NAV usually works - and speeds up the PC!
Seriously, NAV is a huge drain on a Win9x PC's resources, and almost any
other AV is likely to produce better results.
