I went through 3 pages of a Google search and could find only
companies I never heard of that claim they will remove it for a fee.
I did not see one company in there that I ever heard of.  I'll bet
those bums are the ones behind some kind of scam with this crap.

Just an uneducated thought.

I've sent this info the Simply Super Software, which is Trojan
Remover.  I'm curious to see what they tell me.  I've used this
program for a lot of years, and they have answered my emails in the
past. I'm very curious about these companies listing their
disinfecting for a price.  As I said earlier, I never heard of a
single one of them before.

Here is the answer from Trojan Remover

here are hundreds (if not thousands) of "Clicker"-type trojans. The
term Trojan.Clicker was coined to describe a malware program that,
when running on the machine, silently accesses (via hidden browser
windows) pay-per-click sites many times daily, in order to earn
advertising revenue for the malware program author. Google "Trojan
Clicker" and you'll immediately see many references.

Trojan Remover usually uses the generic term "Trojan.Clicker" when
detecting malware of this nature.

I found a page that supposedly tells how to get rid of it.

Good luck.

If your version of trojan clicker gets removed the same way as the one
that they mention, you should be okay.

...of course, your version is probably different - but as you haven't
answered any of my questions, I don't think that I can help you any
further.

From your DISCONNECTED reply you started in a NEW thread, you specified
just the folder, not the full path to the file.  Folders are not
executable entities.  They cannot be infected.  *FILES* can be infected
but you didn't specify a file.  AVG is alerting on a file, not a folder.

So what OTHER anti-malware products have you tried?  How about
MalwareBytes or SuperAntiSpyware or PCTools AV or ...?

Did you yet submit the *FILE* to virustotal.com to see if other anti-
virus scanners also trigger on this same pest and to ensure that AVG
isn't issuing yet another false positive?

Does AVG let you perform a boot-time scan (to run before loading the
rest of Windows beyond its kernel) to ensure that something doesn't lock
the file?
