A program I am using to remove any anti-virus programs on my system
prior to installing a new one, called AppRemover, found parts of an
anti-virus program called G Data Antivirus 2011 on my Vista Ultimate x64
system. Does anybody know of how this AV might have gotten in my system
? I never bought or directly installed such a program.

Was the OS preinstalled, or did you do it yourself?

I installed it myself.

It is possible that this AV is being used internally by some other
program, as I do not see it among the list of installed programs. Also
when I allow AppRemover to search for AV programs as "Remove Security
Application" it does not find any, but when I let it search under
"Cleanup a Failed Install" it finds some pieces ( 90% ) of the "G Data
Antivirus 2011".

Sorry, I can't help you there. Maybe it's time to ask the AppRemover
folks. I'm thinking that their program might fall victim to false
identifications just as AV's do, and it would be best to get your
information from them.
