ca etrust kills performance

Any one else having recent problems with Computer Associates etrust?  I have
2 customers with their version 7 (oem)  product installed and as of this
past week; they both have experienced dramatic performance degradation.  Put
the monitor to sleep and the performance is great.  I assume this has
happened as part of an update.  I tried calling their support number and
they won't even let you ask the question without being charged $95.  I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling and that was no help.

Re: ca etrust kills performance

I did this week.  Think it was 2 days ago and the damn thing just shut
down.  Had to reboot to get it going because nothing else would work.

Think it is time to dump this AV!!

LOL!!  I am just in a rather pissy mood.....I had rather nasty dental
surgery this week and not going to do that again!!  PAIN???  You
betcha!!  So when EZ Trust shut down, my brain was impaired with
morphine and I just left it.

I use AVS on my Windows partition. It's free and reliable. AOL did
something productive for once.

Free AVG seems to be everything I need.
I'm a relatively safe hex kind of guy anyway, having been on the net
before there was a WWW.

Yeah, old fart here. My first box was 5.25" double floppy IBM.
When I got an XT with 10MB (yes, thats MEGAbyte) hard drive, I was in
top  percentile of high tech (and it only cost 3 or 4  grand, and that's
1983 money!)
