Hi Guys,
Got a problem, had a look on the net but can't get an answer that works.
Ok, somehow I have contracted an annoying program that keeps opening up IE
to random web pages it is driving me nuts.  I have scanned using NOD321,
spybot s and d, spyware blaster, but cannot get rid of the thing.  The main
pages it opens up are:
Sprw.information.com
ayuz.com
searchportal.information.com
adserving.cpxinteractive.com
and a few more. How did I get infected with this nuisance, and how do I get
rid of it.
Your help and advice is appreciated.
Thanks and Regards
Bob

Most websites these days are linked to many others, and that's most
likely what's causing your problem. By default, IE, has javascript enabled.

My advice:  Dump IE, and get Firefox instead. It's free, an generally
better than IE, but its main advantage IMO is the NoScript extension,
which allows you to enable javascript one site at a time. By default,
you turn javascript off. When you bring up the NoScript menu, you will
see all the urls linked to that web page. You enable javascript only for
the main page. Flash movies will come up blank with a NoScript icon
shadowed in their box. Click on it, and you can permit javascript only
for that video.

Rule one for javascript: never enable javascript globally.

How you got infected can be very hard to discern as we don't even know what you
are infected
with.

1. Download and execute HiJack This! (HJT)
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe

2. Disable Notepad's word wrap:
In Notepad.exe;  Format --> uncheck; "Word wrap"

3. Download/run Deckard's System Scanner:
http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/Deckard/dss.exe

4. Save the scan results (Main.txt and Extra.txt)

5. And then post the contents of Main.txt and Extra.txt in your post in one of
the below
expert forums...

Re: Browser keeps opening unsolicited urls

Download and install superantispyware free edition, update it, and do a
complete computer scan with it. Superantispyware is very good at finding
problems.

And I also would take Wolf Kirchmeir's advice to dump IE and use Firefox.

Sometimes it's as simple as going into Tools --> Manage Add-ons and
getting rid of everything you aren't absolutely sure about.
