You're probably right. I'm sure it was just another drive-by and
hopefully it won't be back.

Any such blocking would be the function of the browser, not the OS, as
Richard alluded to by stating it as not being a function of XP.

...then you threw a hissy-fit and alienated any possible helpers.

Nice going!

Are you blind? You asked a question and immediately received the
correct answer, and a few more later.

Thnak you and your mother, too.

Well your mother, or whatever it was, raised a dumbass too ignorant to see
that I got no help all.

So piss off, punk.

If you thought I was a troll, deficient one, you wouldn't be replying.

As I've said before, the non-answer you gave was what was trollish.

You're a joke, troll.

Maybe once you're out of grade school, you'll know how to spell.

Re: Banner ad blocking

| I recently changed AV programs from Kaspersky to Norton/Symantec.

| The Norton/Symantec AV doesn't have banner ad blocking, and I'm hoping that
| Win XP might have some settings somewhere that minimize these annoying
| banner ad programs (they do for pop-ups).

| Anybody know of anything?

Why did you do a dumb thing in dropping a good solution for a poor one ?

2001 called, they want their irritating advertising tactic back.
Ever since Google launched Adwords, non intrusive plain text ads are the
way to go.
And seriously, every modern browser (IE7+ and every single version of
Firefox ever) have had popup blocking built in, so why is this even a
problem anymore?

A few years ago I actually spent an hour or so one evening filling the
bathtub to different levels, approximating the rotational velocities,
measuring the vortex diameters, noting the rotational direction, and
calculating forces (...like I said in an earlier post, I make a point of
being easily amused...;^)...)
