Curious on how you actually know it was a malicious site, besides Avira
telling you it was.
I had to turn off that feature in the free Avast as it was slowing down my
browsing experience.
Thanks,

Well I was on demonoid and clicked a link by accident, there are 2
different Avira free web protection "toolbars" one is an actual long
toolbar (if you install avira free from filehippo) and the other for win
8.1 is simply an addon for chrome, firefox or whatever your default
browser is, I have the 8.1 version and it's going just as fast as it
normally does.

I don't have an Avast toolbar. I was talking about the Avast Web Shield,
which was slowing down my browsing while using FF.
I turned it off and did the same for the Avast Mail Shield.
Overall, I am very happy with the free Avast.
