AVG BLocking/Impeding Email

Several friends of mine are experiencing intermittent errors in their
email. The only common thread is AVG free.

One uses Hotmail and complains the message headers and text are severely
garbled. Often he cannot read anything new to the Inbox. Another uses
Outlook Express and is finding it blocked or tied up by AVG Free. The
ISP also notes the block by AVG Free.

What settings in AVG Free need to be changed or features turned off to
eliminate this most frustrating turn of events?

You need to turn off inbound email scanning. Probably a good idea to
turn off the outbound as well. The resident portion of AVG will let
you know if an email or attachment is infected if you try to access
