I am running win2k. Hard drive # 1has the os. Hard drive # 2 is 80gigs & just
data. Out of the blue the os no longer sees the data. If I click on the drive
from exploer, I get an error stating "...the drive is not formatted.Do I want
to format it now?". There is power to the drive (it is warm) & it is on the
same cable as the other drive. I want to get my data if possible before I
consided re-formatting. My anti virus, zone alarm w/ updated tables, did not
find anything.

Use Norton Ghost and see if it can get data and create a Ghost file where you
can extract
data from.

Also...
Go to the hard disk manufacturer's web site and download their diagnostic
software
respective to your hard disk.  After the test, you will know if the hard disk is
bad or
not..
