i have been reading a great many posts about o/c and decided to take
the plung, my system is

AMD 2500+ (Barton)
Win X
768 PC3200
MSI FX5600-TD256

the problem i have got is that when i try to move the fsb from 166 to
180 x 11 with v 1.65 the computer will not boot and i have to reset
the cmos i have notice before reseting and booting it is reading the
ram at DDR 425 not at 400 any ideas
I have been scaning my mobo user guide it explains that the d-bracket
has 4 leds which identify system problems when i try to o/c it is
coming up with; memory detection test testing onboard memory size the
d-led will hang if the memory module is damaged or not installed
properly but when i reset cmos it says everything ok

It sounds like your current setup has the CPU at 166 and the RAM at 200
(5/6).  Set your RAM to 166 and then overclock or if it has dividers, set it
to 5/5 or 6/6.  That is, keep the RAM in sync with the CPU FSB.
