I know you must get these all the time but I was wondering if you could
I would like to upgrade a little, what amd processor gives the best bang for
the buck now? I also need ram and a motherboard, I know this is an
overclocking group but mainly just need it for casual gaming.
I could also do with a new graphics card because my current 4200 Ti is
looking a little more than tired at the moment!
You own some Soltek board and want to upgrade to an Athlon 1700+?? Or you
already own some Soltek board with an Athlon 1700+? This is not very
Cheapest upgrade.....Soltek SL-75FRN2 with Barton 2500+ overclocked to 3200+
spec with 2 x 512Mb dual channel PC3200 DDR and a 128Mb 6600GT. Better but
pricier would be an Nforce4 m/b with an AMD A64 3000+ overclocked and a
6600GT 128Mb card.
Sorry I was very tired and not very clear I agree, I ment upgrade from a
I would prefer an AMD 64 system, could you reccomend me some mobo, gfx card
and ram manufacturers/models? Which socket type should I go for because I
know there are at least 2 different platforms for the 64 cpu.
Should I get my stuff off ebay or go for new?
I recently built an Athlon64 3500+ winchester core, MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
socket 939 Nforce3 Ultra board, and used my current PC3200 Corsair XMS
Extreme LL matched ddr ram.
Have been running this system about 2 months now, very stable, overlclocks
well, and is a very good performer. I went with Nforce3 as I wanted to still
use my agp video card and pci cards. I thought I would wait about a year and
let the dust settle on Nforce4/ PCIe.
I am using my tried and true ATI 9800 Pro 128 mb agp video card, and am sure
it is a bottleneck now in this sytem. I will probably upgrade it before
moving to PCIe...
