At present I'm using my phone quite a lot to dail phone numbers abroad.
In order for me to keep the costs tradiotionally associated with
international mobile phone calls I make use of a redirect service. So I
call this national number xx xxx xxx xx, wait for it to answer the
phone and then call the international number - 00 x xxx xxx xx.
This isn't very handy and thus I have automated this partially by
editing the phone number in the Outlook contact; so the number will
have the following format "xx xxx xxx xx ppp 00 xx xxx xxx xx". The
"ppp" is the command that sets the phone to wait.
Though the above works and works well, it's not the proper solution for
this. When I change redirect service I will have change all the the
phone numbers manually. Also when I want to use the Outlook contacts on
my desktop with the built in modem I have to change the numbers once
more.
On windows I know there is something called "dialing rules" where you
can alter the dailing behaviour of any application depending on one's
location. However, the equivilent settings in Windows Mobile only seem
to apply to the modem connection. Can someone confirm this, or help me
solve the aforementioned problem.
As ever,
Anne
