Mouseover delay?

Is there any (easy) way to delay the execution of a function in a
mouseover event by one second?

I have some info that shows when the user points to a graphic (like a
tool-tip) but I'd like to NOT show it if he simply rolls-over the
graphic on his way to somewhere else on the page (like moving up to
the menu).

Set a variable indicating that the mouse is over the element onmouseover. At
the same time do a setTimeout to run another function once a second had
passed. When onmouseout fires, unset that variable. When the timeout
function fires, test to see if the variable is still set.
