- Iframes the right way
July 13, 2014, 11:49 pm
rate this thread
and linking to it is wrong.
If I am so damn wrong, then so are the people who write the html code
<iframe src="demo_iframe.htm" name="iframe_a"></iframe>
<p><a href="http://www.w3schools.com "
In order to work, the iframe is required to have a name IF, you are going
to use it to change data. Without a name element, only the original page
source will show. Always.
If you want to change the data in the iframe, then you must use target in
the link tag and target will have the "name" of the iframe referenced.
If I'm wrong, don't bitch to me. Bitch to the people who write the source
code and tell them they don't know jack shit.
Re: Iframes the right way
Not so. A couple of us have correctly and directly stated (not "suggested") that your answer
doesn't solve the problem that Mike posted about.
You've been told before that w3schools.com is not exactly an authoritative source for HTML
You've also been told before that w3schools.com != w3.org, which *is* the authoritative
Nothing in Mike's post indicated that he wanted to do that -- so, at best, you answered a
question that was not asked.
And as usual, your "advice" did not fix the problem that caused him to post in the first place.
Where did he say that he wanted to do that?
I hope some day you figure out that w3schools.com has absolutely nothing to do with
establishing web standards.
Re: Iframes the right way
I just realized that the main reason Mike Copeland's iframe are not going
side by side as he wants them, is simple. And you smart people missed it!
He has both of them styled at 100% height and width!
Well duhhhhh, If only one is 100% height snf width, there is no romm for
the second one.
