change in IE?

Is it my imagination or is Internet Explorer handling objects differently
For example with embeded objects and applets there is a "click to activate
this control" message.
That's new isn't it?
In the example linked below IE does not start downloading the audio until we
click play
 (even though: <param name="autoStart" value="True">)
but in Firefox it plays automatically because that's what <embed> does
unless you include autoplay="false" as a property

Yep, that was part of a recent IE update (or downgrade...). Google
for "eolas patent internet explorer" to get some background.
