Thanks again for your advice. I was able to solve the problem. I tried
dragging all the way to the left, over the start button, and releasing, as
you suggested-- didn't work though. Then I noticed that when I right-clicked
on the blank toolbar I was trying to get rid of, it had an option for "Close
Toolbar." Simple enough, and it worked.
