WordPerfect X3 comes with an ifilter (wpdfilter.dll), but Vista's desktop
search doesn't seem to be indexing WPD files. I have found lots of
information on the internet for making the WPD ifilter work with other MS
search technologies, but I can't find any information about how to make it
work with Vista. I don't think the WordPerfect installer properly installs
or regiters the iFilter, or possibly the ifilter doesn't work with Vista
(though it works with other MS search products). I'm not an expert, but I
think I understand how this is supposed to work. It's driving me crazy,
since I have a document base of over 300 wordperfect documents. I really
want to be able to use the intigrated search in Vista to search within these
documents.

1. How can I tell if Vista "sees" the ifiler?

2. Assuming the ifilter is not "installed" properly for Vista, how can I
manually make VIsta recognize and use the WPD ifilter?

BTW...after installing WordPerfect Office X3, the ifilter file is located in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Corel\Shared\Indexing
