What should I have my settings in Wireless Sync set to to push emails
as often as possible. Right now, I have to initiate the sync manually.
It would be great to have Wireless Sync fire every 5 ot 10 minutes.

Right now I'm using the following settings in Wireless Sync:
-I have "Enable Push" checked, not "Enable Readysync" (I don't know the
difference between the two choices).

-For Limit Push/Readysync Time window....I have 1200am to 1205am
(thinking that the push would run all day with the exception of the 5
minutes between 1200 and 1205am.

-Readysync interval is set at 20 minutes (its greyed out and can't be
changed.....and it doesn't run every 20 minutes like it should!)

-"Start Readysynce when device connects" is also enable and greyed out
and doesn't run when the device connects

I'm doing something wrong, right? Should it push without a manual
Wireless Sync session?

My understanding is the two are entirely separate. You can't have both.
Enable Push means that when an update hits the wireless sync server from
your desktop, it will push it immediately. There is no interval to specify
I believe. With Enable ReadySync, that's a "pull" which you can schedule
intervals for (every 20 minutes, etc. etc.).

Until the AKU2.0 devices come on the market later this quarter and allow
proper Push E-mail sync from the Exchange server, you have two options:

- "Push" mail. This sends an SMS to the device, which then does the pull
sync. This requires a link to an SMS sender, and a device that is also a
phone to receive the SMS. Can be expensive if you have lots of e-mails.

- Timed sync. The device can sync based on a schedule on the device. This
can be as low as every 5 minutes. This can get expensive if you don't
receive much e-mail, as the sync has to happen even if there is no mail to
pull back.

Set-up details for this are available here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/business/strategy/exchangemobilemessaging.mspx

And to get ready for the AKU2.0 devices, you need to:

1) Upgrade your Front End Server to Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2 - you do
NOT need to upgrade all the Back-end servers.

2) Extend your ISA or other Firewall timeout to 1800 seconds (30 minutes) -
the reason for this is that the Push Model needs the SSL connection to stay
open (but not using data) for >15 minutes.

Cheers, Chris
