I have an imate SP5. When I use wireless LAN to connect to my work network
and browse our intranet, it seems to take an age to get the first page. To be
honest, to get the first page, it is faster to connect via a GPRS VPN (so
much so, I have all but given up on wireless LAN - but I'm determined to beat
it). Once I have been through the pain of this long delay, any subsequent
pages just fly down.

Any ideas how I can get rid of this long delay?
