I have Windows Vista Ultimate edition running on a virtual m/c. When I launch
Media center and click on Recorded tv and try to play a sample clip ( eg
Apollo 13 ), I get the message "Files needed to display video are not
installed or not working correctly. Please restart Windows Media Center or
restart the computer."
I have restarted Media center and the computer several times but I still get
the error! Please help!!!

I'm pretty sure you can't view any video through media center on a virtual
machine.

Yeah, that won't work. Virtual machines use a subset of the video
capabilities, so things like DirectX are not present in a VM. And Media
Center needs that to work...
