Hello "Auggie USA":
Ouch! I just tried to re-connect my xbox 360 as an extender to my
MCE2005 pc and got a similar message! Something about uninstall the media
center extender program and re-install it! My Vista pc is still able to
connect to the xbox so I still have and extender but I don't like using the
Vista pc as an extender because every time it goes to sleep or is turned off,
upon waking up it sees all devices on the network as Public and requires me
to re-designate them as private in order for the devices to connect back up!
This is with Vista SP1 installed. I had hoped that problem would have been
solved with the service pack. Instead, now I can't even use my XP pc to
connect to my living room tv at all after SP3. I think probably I may try
uninstalling the original Media Center update to XP that was installed prior
to SP3 and then go to Windows Update and see if it will download again and
maybe put me back in business. If that fails I will have to either uninstall
SP3 or worse use my Farstone Re-Store It program to roll back the pc to prior
to SP3 since it was working just fine then. What fun!
