Installed service pack 3 on my two media center 2004 wks and now have no "MY
network places"; It just hangs the system looking for the network
connection??. NO errors ! Worked great before SP3.

The explorer.exe program works ok!

On Other standard Windows XP wks ;everything works OK. Just the media center
wks.

Any Ideas!

Thanks!

It might have just been hidden

To bring it back, try this

Right click your desktop and then goto the Properties
Then goto the desktop tab
Then hit the Customize Desktop button

Then enable 'My Network Places" in the resultant dialog.

Hello "Auggie USA":
I had the same problem when I first tried to contact a second XP pc after
SP3 was installed on both. I think that the SP3 installation causes the
network setup to be removed. On the pc that has the printer and internet
connection I just used the normal "Set up a home network wizard" as if it
never had been set up and then went to the XP pc that connects thru the first
pc and ran the same wizard selecting this pc connects thru another pc. After
doing that on both pc's there's no problem. Interestingly, the Vista
Ultimate pc on the network re-connected automatically with no user input!
Hope this helps you.
