My Windows Automatic Update is disabled. I've tried going to services.msc (as
suggested in the knowledge base) and attempted to enable Automatic Updates.
It will not change and the end result is a 1058 error message

Any suggestions?

Please repost with more/better information:

Do you have the XP or Vista version of Media Center?

Has this always happened or did it just start?

Any recent changes to the system?

Have you scanned for virus/malware/etc.?
