We are using Windows 2003 AD kerberos authentication for a Tomcat based
program. Our logon names start with a upper case character. Because kerberos
is case sensitive when they login they need to type the name with the
uppercase first character. We tried changing the login name in AD with no
success. Any ideas?

Please elaborate - where do the users have to type name starting with a
upcase character?

Typical interop scenario is that users authenticate to Windows (not
case-sensitive logon), then use Kerberos environment to authenticate to Web
servers without a need for additional credentials input... How your scenario
is different?
