Is this possible? We have a Windows 2000 domain inplace we don't want
to upgrade at this time. We need to deploy a Certificate Authority, and
would prefer an Enterprise CA rather than stand alone.

MS documentation outlines the server requirements to be 2003, but I
don't see if the domain needs to be 2003.

Any ideas/experience?

To get a couple of the new features, you need to run the 2003 forstprep and
domain prep. Other than that, you are OK to proceed with your plan.

You don't need Windows 2003 domain controllers, however, to take full
advantage of the benefits and features of Windows Server 2003
Certificate Services you need to apply the Windows Server 2003 schema
updates to your forest.
